AWS BucketBuddy is a VS Code extension that gives developers a visual S3 browser directly in the IDE. It was built to eliminate the constant context-switching between code editors and the AWS Console (or terminal) when working with S3 objects.

Every feature — browsing, uploading, downloading, version history, cross-account copy — is free, with no sign-up and no feature tiers. BucketBuddy uses your existing AWS credentials and works with every standard credential provider the AWS SDK supports.

It is also built for trust: every profile and bucket starts locked (read-only) the moment you connect it, and updating bucket content is always an explicit, one-click unlock — never an accidental side effect of browsing.
